Kids will learn Cyber Security

Las Vegas, Nevada - An expert in information security and a certified member of (ISC) ² ® ("ISC-squared"), the world's largest non-profit professional information security body managers CISSP certified ® will deliver online presentation to a group of parents and students to educate them.

Gary Alu, CISSP, CISM, Crisco, president of FG Alu Consulting LLC, will use the presentation to teach children how to protect yourself in a world increasingly cyber-related environment, covering topics of interest such as social networking, stalking cyber viral e-mails, sexting, malware, spam, identity theft and more. Safe and secure online will be presented to 50 sixth graders and their parents during this session. The local PBS station Gary video presentation, which will be pre-installed on all refurbished equipment delivered by "Computers for Children" beginning in September.

A national security through (ISC) ² and an online safety program, (ISC) ² members certified volunteers deliver the interactive presentation designed for children ages 11-14. Compelling the use of materials developed by teachers of the old school, the program is offered to any school in the country for free.

According to the "State of 2011 cyber ethics, cyber security and Curriculum Cyber Security in the U.S. survey, published by the National Cyber Security Alliance last week, teachers are not yet prepared to address these critical issues in the classroom. According to the survey, a third of teachers reported receiving no professional development training in these areas, and less than 20 percent of teachers have taught students about how to deal with the alarming messages, videos and Web content.

"The complexities of online safety and security are huge, and as information security professional, I feel compelled to share my knowledge with those most in need," said the (ISC) ² volunteer Gary Alu, CISSP. "The safety and security program online is a wonderful resource, free for teachers, students and parents alike." Alu became involved with safe and secure online in 2009, when he entered the School District Clark County. In the last year, has presented more than 4,500 children in 10 different schools. In the fall semester, schools are moving Alu and presentation in an auditorium where you will have the opportunity to present to larger groups.
