Service Provider: This path is aimed at professionals working with infrastructure or access solutions in a Cisco end-to-end environment primarily within the telecommunications arena.

How to obtain CCIE Service Provider certificate?

Step 1: Obtain CCNA certificate

CCNA is an entry-level certification belonging to Cisco after-sale engineer certified system. As to general people, CCNA involves basic network knowledge and devices supported by CISCO system. The ccurriculum learning cycle is around one to three months.
At present, there are two channels to take the examination:

• 1. Take the examination of 640-802.
• 2. Take two examinations of 640-822 and 640-816

Step 2: Obtain CCIP certificate

CCIP (Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional) validates competency as a network professional who taking office in telecommunication operator agencies in infrastructure IP network solutions. Professional with CCIP certification has a profound understanding of the network technology relevant to telecommunications operator area, including IP routing, IP QoS, BGP and MPLS.
At present, there are four channels to take the examination:

• 1. Take four examinations of 642-901, 642-642, 642-661 and 642-611.
• 2. Take four examinations of 642-892, 642-642, 642-661, 642-611.
• 3. Take three examinations of 642-892, 642-642, 642-691.
• 4. Take three examinations of 642-901, 642-642, 642-691.

Step 3: Obtain CCIE SP certificate

CCIE Service Provider Certification demonstrates network technician’s expert-level knowledge in IP principles and core IP technology (such as unicast IP routing, QoS, Multicast, MPLS, MPLS VPN, traffic engineering and multi-protocol BGP), as well as expertise in at least one network area related to service operator. These areas are inclusive of dial-up, DSL, cable networks, optical networks, WAN exchange, IP telephony, content networks and Metro Ethernet.
At present, the exam consists of two parts:

• 1. Take the written exam: 350-029.
• 2. Take the lab-based practical exam.
